Seasonal Graph of the DJIA
Below is
a seasonal graph of the DJIA. This data is interesting but only marginally
useful in predicting short-term market trends although many seem
to use it for that purpose. The Average trend curve was computed
using closing DJIA values for years 2000 through 2009, with 2001
excluded. All data were scaled to one on the first trading day of
the year. Results for 2009 are shown separately.
