Seasonal Graph of the DJIA
Below is
a seasonal graph of the DJIA. This data is interesting but only marginally
useful
in predicting short-term market trends although many seem to use
it for that purpose. The Average trend curve was computed using closing
DJIA values for years 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006. All
data were scaled to one on the first trading day of the year. Results
for 2007
are
shown separately.
